The BWE Structural Engineering Department is looking to add another productive and motivated team member to our group!

We are looking for someone who has the confidence to lead a project but who is humble enough to ask questions. We need a problem solver with good people skills who enjoys working on a wide range of projects, with differing materials, in various jurisdictions. We want someone who fits in with our group and who enjoys working as part of a team. We value individuality, creativity, and diversity to make us stronger as a group of individuals who can each provide their own perspective in contributing to our success.

Enough about what we want, here’s a little bit about ourselves.

We are a local San Diego firm of about 50 people, with 16 team members (including 8 CA-licensed SE’s) in the Structural Engineering Department. We rely on our collective breadth of knowledge to create designs that align with the goals of our clients. We strive to be helpful and provide value to our clients so that they continue to want to work with us. Our work is primarily on projects located in Southern California, but we hold licensure in several states and that allows us to continue servicing our clients when their pursuits take them out of California.

Since we are a relatively small group, we can provide each of our team members with hands-on support, mentoring and wide project experience that helps propel their growth and feed their confidence. At BWE, you will not simply be another face in the crowd. Instead, you will be a valued member of our team and will be able to participate in shaping our department both technically and strategically.

We offer potential for career growth and upward mobility if you strive to help us run things, but that’s also not required if you want to stick to engineering and endeavor to be the best SE in town.

We are looking for a great fit as much as ability, so please check out our website and connect with our team on LinkedIn. Please reach out to any of our team members and see why this could be the best, and last, career move that you didn’t know was out there.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current California SE license
  • Experience designing in multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish
  • A knack for problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, great teamwork
  • Great communication skills across all forms of communication
  • Ability to take initiative, confidence, and having an enthusiasm for structural engineering!

We are a 100% Employee-Owned company that offers competitive compensation, including generous bonuses, profit sharing and retirement contributions, and unlimited growth potential. We take pride in creating a positive and accommodating culture to foster the personal and professional growth of each of our team members.

Job Type: Full-time, in person.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $140,000.

To apply, please respond with a cover letter, resume, a few references, availability, and salary expectations to resumes@bwesd.com. Please emphasize why you think you are the right person for our team.
