We are looking for a structural detailer with 5 plus years of progressively developing Revit experience ready for increased responsibility. Computer skills are required, and an understanding of construction and structural detailing is preferred. The ability to work well with fellow technicians and engineers, as well as communicate well with clients, are a must. Our BIM Manager needs to be tech savvy, continuously learning and keeping up with advancements in BIM and CAD standards of practice as well as construction practices for properly detailing the built environment. This knowledge will be prioritized and training for the detailers will be developed to keep the Structural Department at the forefront of the industry. The BIM Manager will work with engineers to develop standards and templates that are efficiently and accurately applied across the department.

We currently have a great team; rich with technical ability, focused on customer service, full of character, and we are looking to have someone join us and continue to help keep us a great Structural Engineering department.

An understanding of construction and structural plans and detailing is vital; engineering degrees and EIT’s are appreciated, but not required. All of our team members need to be able to work well with fellow technicians and engineers as well as be able to communicate well with clients. Our Revit and ACAD users need to be computer savvy continuously learning and growing with our team, keeping up with BIM and CAD standards of practice as well as construction practices for properly detailing the built environment. BWE is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our team.

Qualified candidates will hold a BS degree in Civil Engineering (PE preferred, EIT certificate required) with a minimum of five years of progressive professional experience. Candidates must be competent in the design of grading, drainage, utility, and public improvement plans. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the approval requirements and processes of various local, state and federal agencies. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a must (Microstation experience a plus).

Experience in the following areas will be given favorable consideration:

  • Hydrology Studies and LEED calculations
  • Storm water management reports, including SWPPP preparation
  • Writing/editing Specifications
  • DSA, OSHPD, and/or military experience
  • Design-Build delivery

The Civil Project Engineer will report to a Project Manager and work with Civil Designers. Excellent communication skills and customer service are essential. The position requires that the successful candidate relocate to San Diego, CA if not already in the area.

Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, as well as a minimum of 2-3 years of experience, a positive attitude and desire to learn and progress. Registration as an EIT preferred.

Ideal candidate’s project and technical experience should include preliminary engineering design studies; preparation, processing and production of public improvement plans and development plans; earthwork and drainage calculations and reports; mapping; preferred skill set includes experience with site plan engineering for commercial, office and healthcare projects.

We are currently seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician with a minimum of one (1) year of Civil 3D experience with field experience a plus. This position is responsible for developing survey construction stakeout and other survey related drawings in an AutoCAD/CIVIL3D platform, receiving field data, and transforming them into working drawings, existing conditions base sheets and finished drawings. The Survey CAD Technician will work under the direction of a Project Surveyor. The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a productive team environment, have effective oral and written communication skill, and professional appearance and demeanor. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for understanding and completing drawings in accordance with supervisor direction and industry survey standards.
  • Creating a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawings, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.
  • Modifying drawings as directed by supervisor.
  • Work closely with other surveyors and engineers to insure a coordinated product.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

Candidate must have at least one (1) year experience preferred in civil design or surveying and the following skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of AUTOCAD
  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD/CIVIL3D
  • Experience with drawing setup and scale usage
  • Experience dimensioning, labeling, and plotting
  • Experience in processing field data files
  • Strong work ethic

BWE is seeking to fill a challenging opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic, analytical, highly competent, customer-focused Surveying Professional.

Candidate submitting resumes should enjoy being on the leading edge of surveying technology, including 3D Laser Scanning, knowledge of Trimble software and Civil 3D a plus.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 1-3 years of office surveying experience, and possession of a valid California LSIT certificate is desired but not required.

Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Land Surveyor, candidate responsibilities will include planning, assigning, reviewing, and producing final deliverables for survey products.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Knowledge of field/office surveying methods, practices, techniques, and mathematical procedures for surveying.
  • Knowledge of elementary principles and practices of surveying for engineering projects.
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal descriptions and record survey maps.

We are currently seeking a qualified Administrative Assistant for our San Diego office. This is a full-time Direct Hire. The position is 100% in-office. Excellent pay and benefits are offered.

This person will support the survey department manager daily to include organization and processing of field paperwork as well as project related set up, employee badging, some billing and budget analysis, and prevailing wage payroll-related functions. This includes processing prevailing wage payroll reporting, taxation forms and benefits, as well as maintaining employee data, handling rate and benefit questions, and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing a company’s prevailing wage projects.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Collect and verify employee and timekeeping data for multiple prevailing wage projects
  • Compute wages, deductions, fringe benefits, etc.
  • Update current rates for our work categories including benefits and wage determination
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting statements reflecting earnings, taxes, and deductions
  • Answer questions and resolve issues regarding prevailing wages and required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws
  • Prepare prevailing wage forms and reports
  • Skilled and Trained Workforce Reporting
  • Organization of Field Dailies and Extra Work Tickets
  • Assist Project Manager with back up for monthly billing

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience with DIR, LCP, and EMARS Tracker programs are a plus

  • “Ajera” Software experience a plus+
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Comfortable working directly with Project Managers and field staff to resolve discrepancies
  • Ability to work with little supervision and take the initiative to create a process to complete assigned tasks on time
  • Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English proficiently
