This position is for a Professional Land Surveyor that supervises technical staff, provides professional review of work products; helps manage office and field workload, and supports the principal in charge. Required Experience

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform a diverse set of skills within Land Surveying. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Professional Land Surveyor registration is a must and California is preferred, a minimum of 10 years surveying and mapping experience required, must possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills, must be proficient in the use of total stations, GPS receivers and data collectors, and GPS reduction software, TBC preferred, excellent AutoCAD skills a plus, proficient in monumentation, and staking.

The person in this position provides all types of survey research, calculations, review of survey drafting of topographic maps and plats, legal descriptions of land for deeds, leases, and other legal documents in accordance with local, state, federal and project requirements, and reviews projects, performs quality assurance, and delivers client satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:

We are currently seeking a Land Surveying CAD Technician with a minimum of one (1) year of Civil 3D experience, with field experience a plus. This position is responsible for developing survey construction stakeout and other survey related drawings in an AutoCAD/CIVIL3D platform, receiving field data and transforming them into working drawings, existing conditions base sheets and finished drawings. The Land Surveying CAD Technician will work under the direction of a Project Surveyor. The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a productive team environment, have effective oral and written communication skill, and professional appearance and demeanor. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for understanding and completing drawings in accordance with supervisor direction and industry survey standards.
  • Creating a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawings, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.
  • Modifying drawings as directed by supervisor.
  • Work closely with other surveyors and engineers to insure a coordinated product.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

Experience

Candidate must have at least one (1) year experience preferred in civil engineering design or surveying and the following skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of AUTOCAD
  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD/CIVIL3D
  • Experience with drawing setup and scale usage
  • Experience dimensioning, labeling, and plotting
  • Experience in processing field data files
