Experience

Mr. Colvin serves as President of BWE and also leads the Structural Engineering Department. He is experienced in designing almost all code acceptable structural mediums, including wood, masonry, concrete, structural steel, and lightgage metal. His design responsibilities include providing design, construction administration, and project management on a wide spectrum of project types. Mr. Colvin’s project experience includes biotechnology and life sciences facilities, military, educational facilities, industrial, historic restoration, commercial, hospitality, residential, and retail. His approach to every project is to work with all stakeholders to design the most efficient and constructible structure possible while meeting the owner’s programmatic and cost objectives. He ensures close attention is paid to any potential challenges that may affect a project’s design at each stage. Mr. Colvin continues to facilitate the requirements of several large institutions and Fortune 500 companies for structural design of new construction, retrofit, and repair needs on an as-needed basis.
