Design 39 Campus

K-12 Schools

A new collaborative STEM school to accommodate 1,000 elementary and 500 middle school students. The campus has four new multi-story buildings, an athletics field, play courts, an outdoor multi-use pavilion and an iconic “main street” campus entry way. Students will be organized into pods, with labs and common space for learning. The campus integrates indoor and outdoor space through the use of roll-up doors. BWE provided civil engineering, storm water management design, and construction administration for the project. BIM was integral to the coordination of utilities, foundations and grading throughout the campus. A bio-filtration system and an underground storm water detention system was designed to manage storm water runoff from the new buildings and site improvements. Sustainable design features were incorporated into the overall project design.
