Four aircraft hangars, GSE building and various support structures. This facility allows squadrons to practice extensive training operations in a realistic environment. Buildings are steel framed with braced frames and masonry shear walls on a concrete mat foundation. Civil work included associated utilities, off-site utilities, new concrete airfield apron, asphalt parking and drainage ditch. Survey edge of existing concrete apron, edge of asphalt, utility appurtenances and invert elevations, trees and fence line. BWE also provided a survey of the existing ground, improvements and utility crossings along route of new sewer, storm drain, gas, fire and AFFF pipes. Heat mitigation was a big concern in design and during construction.
