Miramar College – Hourglass Park Field House

A  65,000 SF athletics facility that includes a gymnasium, a fitness center, classrooms, dance rooms, laundry areas, multi-purpose areas, two parking areas, an outdoor courtyard, and a volleyball court. It was the third phase of a 32-acre complex that includes a three-pool aquatics center and multi-sport ball fields and is LEED certified. The civil services included site improvements, grading and storm drainage design, utility design, an erosion control plan, hydrology study and stormwater management plan.

Sustainable features include high-efficiency irrigation system that uses reclaimed water; extensive use of recycled materials and high energy performance by adding additional insulation at roofs; and walls and air handlers that utilize cool morning and evening outside air.
