A new 3-story building totaling 205,000 SF located on the site of the Aztec Center built in 1966. The new student union has a 300-seat theater, food services and retail facilities, student workstations, a large ballroom/banquet hall, bowling and games center, auxiliary fitness facility, student organization offices, meeting and conference spaces, and administrative and student government offices. Sustainable design features include reuse of demolished building materials, a vegetative roof, photovoltaic solar collection, natural day lighting, sunshade devices, radiant floor systems, ground heat exchanger, previous paving that allows storm water collection, and underground storm water storage tanks. Civil engineering included road realignment and the relocation of major utility mains.
