BWE provided civil engineering and land surveying services for the renovation of a 9-story student residence hall and food service facility. Portions of the interior, exterior and surrounding areas were demolished and replaced including a major portion of the concrete slab in the food services facility, all utilities, pavement and landscaping. Renovations to the food services facility will once again allow for food preparation and service. The food services facility was designed to meet LEED Silver requirements. The remainder of the renovations included upgraded elevators meeting rooms, front desk area, laundry room, offices, resource center, mail room and lobby. Aesthetic enhancements were also made to the exterior. The site work replaced the main entry to both buildings with a courtyard area and reworked entry to the tower on the south side of the building. New entry walkways, steps, decorative paving, planters, site improvements and landscaping were provided as well. In addition, storm water treatment measures such as roof downspout filters and bio-retention swales were added.
