BWE has provided civil engineering services for over 40 years. During that time we have completed an extensive array of projects. Since each one is unique our Principals are fully involved throughout the project, from site studies through design and construction. Over time our portfolio has grown in size and diversity, giving us the experience necessary to provide our expertise in many areas of development including grading and drainage, site utility, hydrology studies, reports, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and ADA compliance.
Our engineers actively keep up with new regulations and technology. We have licensed engineers who are also LEED accredited and Qualified SWPPP Developers (QSDs) and Practitioners (QSPs).
We have BIM modeling expertise and the ability to integrate Civil 3D site models and Revit models. Civil 3D is a slightly different BIM design tool than that used by architects and the rest of the A/E team. Although compatible with A/E BIM software, Civil 3D is mostly used independently to detect clashes between new site utilities and existing infrastructure, to optimize grading solutions, and to estimate quantities of site improvements and utilities. When the Civil 3D BIM model is integrated with the A/E team model, it is mainly used to check for conflicts at the building interface. Examples of such conflicts include utility penetrations through footings and foundations as well as the size, location and elevation of site utility and building utility points of connection.
Our surveyors use state of the art Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment for surveying. The equipment allows for instantaneous data collection for boundary and topographic surveying.
Processing requirements vary greatly and we have experience with most regulatory agencies. We look forward to assisting you with your project.
